I want to show my mom how much I appreciate her and love her.
Last year I took a large poster board, wrote a poem on it, and then put my hand print and my sisters hand print on it. I feel like that was my last idea, I cannot figure out another idea for a gift.

I really like your idea from last year, that is unique and thoughtful... How about a family album, if you think scrap booking may be too feminine you could make her a dvd, if you have the technology tools for that. You could cook her a dinner or make a christmas ornament.
