Buying Christmas gifts for people who have everything should really not be considered so much a challenge as an opportunity to show that person that you have thoughtfullness, creativity, resourcefulness and Yes... even humor! Especially humor.

Consider these fine examples of unusual gifts for people who have everything:


  • A nifty power jar opener. Regardless of age, gender or inclination, we have all encounterd stubborn, tough-to-open jars at some point or another. Black & Decker has one that is electric-powered and works with the greatest of ease, even with jars that seem to be permanently glued with Gorilla Glue to their tops. This is a gift that is appreciated by both young and old alike.
  • An action or bobble-head figure created in the image and likeness of the receiver. You've seen the TV ad of the cab driver that has one of these on his taxi's dashboard? This would give that special person on your list a good ego boost, don't you think?
  • On the serious side, those who insist they have everything they need and won't need a Christmas gift this year will surely not object if you make a donation to their favorite charity, whether that be for the local Animal Society, a women's shelter, or a fundraiser for a physical condition they feel partial to. If you're not sure which one they would rather designate the donation to, simply ask them.
  • Or how about offering to set aside some time to do a few chores or errands for the gift recipient?  One would be hard-pressed to turn down an offer to walk the family pet a couple of times,or to water the indoor garden while the owners are out of town one weekend.

    • Now, this is not an exhaustive list by any means, but you get the idea. It may take some research, a bit of consultation/snooping and a good dose of imagination, but there's usually something available for even the most difficult person to buy for.
    Just put yourself in the other person's shoes for a minute or two and see the world from their eyes. It's sure to reveal a need or two that can be fulfilled during this special time of the year.
